What to bring

Ontario sets the legal casino age at 19. Momentum and Great Canadian Rewards both set 19 as the age to join. Momentum asks for a government-issued photo ID at sign-up. At Guest Services, a valid government-issued photo ID is enough to complete a Great Canadian Rewards application. My Club Rewards asks for valid ID.

Checks can start at the door, before anyone reaches Guest Services. Great Canadian Entertainment casinos turn away anyone under 19, and any guest who seems younger than 30 is asked to show ID. An original government-issued photo ID is required there. Staff may also request a secondary ID.

Where each card is joined

My Club Rewards serves as the card for Gateway casinos, and enrolment is free for anyone who shows valid ID at Guest Services. It works at 13 of the 30 casinos in this guide. Great Canadian Rewards offers two routes. One is online through greatcanadian.com, with a government-issued photo ID and a mobile phone with a camera. The other is the Guest Services desk at any of its 12 Ontario destinations.

Momentum, Mohegan's programme, is free to join at Guest Services at Fallsview Casino Resort or Casino Niagara, both in Niagara Falls. Unity by Hard Rock, used at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa, is joined by creating an account. Existing members sign in instead, and the card works at Hard Rock locations worldwide.

Caesars Rewards is the card at Caesars Windsor. This guide did not read its joining rules there, so it gives none; Guest Services at the casino can explain them. For Casino Rama Resort, no card is confirmed, and the casino can say which one it uses.

Who cannot join

Great Canadian Rewards names three groups who cannot join: anyone under 19, anyone banned from one of its destinations and anyone self-excluded. Age 19 is the legal age for every casino in Ontario.

Self-exclusion through OLG reaches further than one card. A person who uses My PlayBreak chooses a break from casinos: either 3 or 6 months, or a span of 1 to 5 years. During the break, no Ontario casino will allow entry, and the chosen term cannot end ahead of time. To enrol, a person calls the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, a staff member at the venue or a PlaySmart Centre.

Questions

Does one card work at every Ontario casino?

No card covers them all. In this guide, no card works at casinos of two different operators. My Club Rewards works at 13 of the 30, Great Canadian Rewards at 12, Momentum at 2, Caesars Rewards at 1 and Unity by Hard Rock at 1. No card is confirmed for Casino Rama Resort.

Can Great Canadian Rewards be joined online?

Yes, through the operator's own site at greatcanadian.com. Joining online needs a valid government-issued photo ID and a mobile phone with a camera for a photo of the face.

What ID does a person bring to Guest Services?

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. At Guest Services, that is enough to complete a Great Canadian Rewards application. Momentum asks for the same.
