Ontario's online gambling market has been regulated since April 4, 2022, with iGaming Ontario conducting and managing it and the AGCO as regulator. A site can be checked by finding it on the published iGaming Ontario roster of regulated sites, found at igamingontario.ca.
How the online market works
Launch day for this market was April 4, 2022. Conduct and management are handled by iGaming Ontario, and the regulator is AGCO, meaning the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. In the province, a private online casino needs both AGCO registration and an operating agreement it holds with iGaming Ontario to be legal. Regulated sites appear on a list posted at igamingontario.ca. Any site missing from that list is not part of the regulated market.
OLG.ca is the online casino run by the provincial agency, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. Two conditions apply to every player online. No player may be under 19. A bet can go through only while the person playing is physically in Ontario.
Cards and online play
This guide matches rewards cards to land-based casinos and nothing else. For each casino, it takes the programme named on the casino's own page or its operator's programme page, and dates the check. Where no official page read by the guide names one, the card is marked as not confirmed. The guide covers where a card works and how to get it. It says nothing about online accounts or online offers, and it never ranks one card above another.
Blocking yourself
BetGuard, at betguard.ca, lets a person exclude themselves from every regulated Ontario online gambling site, OLG.ca included. iGaming Ontario has run it from May 14, 2026 onward. Fixed terms run for 6 months, for 1 year or for 5 years, and a custom length is also available. Land-based casinos fall outside its reach.
Under OLG's My PlayBreak, a casino self-exclusion runs for 3 or 6 months, or for any period between 1 and 5 years. With a casino break, no Ontario casino allows entry. To enrol, a person contacts the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, on-site staff, or a PlaySmart Centre. After it starts, the term cannot end early.
